COLLECTIVISM
22nd May - 13th June, 2026
COLLECTIVISM: Cultural Crisis and the Emergence of the Collective - Group Exhibition at The Bomb Factory Marylebone.
Featuring work by Edgar Racy, Sid and Jim, Emma Ridgway, Emma Ogawa Todd, Ellie Niblock, Konstantinos Leloudas, Marine One, Claudia Yu, Chris Rabbit and Keziah Greenwood.
Exploring Gaston Bacherlard’s idea of topoanalysis, our proposed show is to turn the exhibition space into a domestic transitory space, one resembling a cupboard or cloak room. This space represents places we store and collect the objects that protect us from the outside world from the physical elements or the less tangible even existential fears. Bachelard proposes topoanalysis as an auxiliary of psychoanalysis encouraging us to look into these domestic spaces and the objects they store as localised memories.
What does the contents of the space reveal about our need for protection and what we need protecting from?
This exhibition will take the form of works hanging from pegs, hangers and hooks or propped against walls. Long rails will flank the gallery space and sculptures will find their place organically. This informal approach to curation and installation speaking to the domesticity of the imagined space, as well as unifying the artworks with an overarching context.
